iMaps adds another satellite component to its offering for modern, diversified portfolios
Liechtenstein, September 1, 2022 – With the iMaps Asia Opportunities ETI (ISIN: DE000A3GZ3V5), the European certificate issuer iMaps ETI AG is expanding its product range with another unique thematic certificate. The investment product focuses on the Asian market excluding Japan.
In a time full of question marks regarding the future economic and political situation, developing and emerging countries in Asia are particularly suitable as an addition to diversified portfolios due to their low correlation. Despite all the adversity, Asia still acts as an engine for global economic development. As the most populous continent, it makes the highest contribution to global gross domestic product (GDP). However, valuations still do not reflect this fact any more than the traditionally very low weighting of Asian equities in domestic portfolios.
“In traditional global equity ETFs, US and Western stocks are generally heavily overweighted, while Chinese stocks in particular are barely included. Yet there are also very attractive issuers in China. We have identified very favorable growth stocks “Made in China”, but also from other Southeast Asian countries such as Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam,” explains Andreas Wölfl, founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors of iMaps ETI AG. “Our iMaps Asia Opportunities Certificate is intended as an addition to broadly diversified portfolios. With a volatility comparable to that of the MSCI Asia excluding Japan, we want to achieve an excess return. At the same time, we aim for the lowest possible correlation to the established markets in order to fully exploit the diversification benefits. A good addition to a portfolio is characterized in particular by a low correlation to the other portfolio components.”
The seven most heavily weighted stocks in the certificate are currently Sea Ltd, China Water Affairs, Alibaba, Vietnam Diary Products, Ping An Insurance, Jardine Matheson Holding and Fosun International. iMaps will regularly comment on both the composition and the portfolio companies. The iMaps Asia Opportunities ETI certificate is traded daily on the Stuttgart Stock Exchange and is structured as a collateralized security.
